I am a Chartered Engineer (MICE) specialised in timber construction and connection design. I studied Civil Engineering in Spain and completed an MSc in Advanced Structural Engineering at Edinburgh Napier University. Since 2011 I have worked across the UK construction industry, from a timber connector manufacturer to a traditional structural engineering design office, gaining hands-on experience in both research and development and building design.
In 2022, I joined ETH Zurich to pursue a PhD on the fire dynamics of exposed timber compartments. Now at IGNIS, I work as a Design Engineer, helping ensure that timber — and any other building materials — meet the required levels of safety in the fire design case. I am passionate about combining structural engineering expertise, fire science, and sustainable design principles to enable safe and efficient use of timber in the construction industry.
