Michael Rauch

Michi Rauch is an is expert on the separating function, detailing, thermal simulations and fire resistance testing. He was working as a project manager for engineering design of residential buildings in Munich before doing his PhD at the Chair of Timber Structures and Building Construction at the Technical University of Munich. The topic of his thesis was the assessment of the of timber assemblies exposed to fire using a Component Additive Method. During his work as a research associate, he focused on the development design rules for multi-storey timber buildings that should support the German timber market. He is member within the German standardization committees DIN 4102-4 „Fire Behaviour of Building Materials and Building Components“ and the national mirror committee of Eurocode 5 – Design of timber structures Part 1-2: Structural fire design.
