Michael Rauch

I am an expert on the separating function, detailing, thermal simulations and fire resistance testing. I worked as a project manager for engineering design of residential buildings in Munich before doing my PhD at the Chair of Timber Structures and Building Construction at the Technical University of Munich. The topic of the thesis was the assessment of timber assemblies exposed to fire using a Component Additive Method. During my work as a research associate, I focused on the development design rules for multi-storey timber buildings that should support the German timber market. I am a member within the German standardization committees DIN 4102-4 „Fire Behaviour of Building Materials and Building Components“ and the national mirror committee of Eurocode 5 – Design of timber structures Part 1-2: Structural fire design.
